Why “Real Light”?

I chose the name “Real Light” because that’s essentially what people are searching for in spirituality. A kind of guiding light that helps them navigate through the world. But through all the noise, demands, distractions in a world that’s consistently getting noisier, more demanding and more distracting it can be easy to lose your light in all of this.

I firmly believe that everyone has their own unique contributions to make to the world around them. I also believe that it’s easy to lose ourselves to other people’s idea of who we should be. My goal with The Real Light Project is to help people find themselves on their own terms. I intend to do that in a way that doesn’t mean getting lost to someone else’s idea of spirituality or shutting everything out to isolate to punishing degree. My approach starts with taking a real look at the path you’re currently on, identifying what’s actually helping or hindering you and then supporting you taking some solid steps towards the future you say you want for yourself.

“Real Light” also speaks to the vibe around here. I try to keep everything in an approachable, conversational tone. I’m not here to tell you who should be, but sometimes I’ll have to point things out or ask questions about what you mean. The ultimate goal is to encourage people to listen to themselves, be curious about what they learn about who they are, and get them engaged with the world around them.
